Imply Raises Series A funding

I’m excited to announce that Imply has raised a $13.3M Series A, led by Andreessen Horowitz, and joined by our seed investor, Khosla Ventures. Martin Casado, General Partner at A16Z, and founder of Nicira Networks, will be joining our board of directors. You can read more about Martin’s Imply investment thesis on the A16Z blog.

We plan to leverage these new funds to accelerate the execution of our vision for the company –
to create an operations analytics platform that can not only handle vast amounts of streaming and historical data, but also rapidly explain why any data pattern exists.
Apache Druid (incubating) will still remain as the heart of our product, and we are fully committed to continue building value for the open source community.

In the few short years since Druid was first open sourced, we’ve been amazed at its wide range of use cases. We first started Druid to power an application that could explain and analyze patterns and trends in digital media and advertising data. Today, Druid is deployed in production across networking, security, retail, finance, health care, telecommunications, and consumer marketplace companies.

Imply has been a natural extension of the vision we started with Druid, and Imply has grown rapidly to become an end-to-end enterprise analytics product that includes powerful visualizations, and critical deployment, management, and security software.

Today, we are also happy to announce that Imply Cloud, a service we created to make Druid/Imply even easier to use and manage, is generally available.

We have grand plans for Druid and Imply in the coming months, and if you are interested in being a part of this adventure, we’re hiring!
